As mentioned in earlier stories, Ben teamed up with Matt Pisani to build and drive the ABT 4x4 Racing Jeep in Tuff Truck Challenge. The guys had a lot of help from sponsors and mates to get the build completed and with an all-nighter the night before the event, the vehicle was driven out of the shed and onto the trailer to compete in the event.

Ben and Matt have been busy preparing the Jeep for Tuff Truck challenge and there is a lot of work ahead to have the vehicle fully functional in time for this competition. The guys will have a busy couple of weeks ahead of them if the vehicle is to make it to the start line on the day, but it can be done!

Mantis Motorsport attended the 5th Annual Put up or Shut up Shootout over the weekend. The transporter rolled out on Friday morning and returned Monday night to participate in the action over the weekend.

The event was held at Rover park, and the weather was kind to the organisers the entire weekend with daytime temps being in the low to mid 30's.

Ben from Mantis Motorsports will be joining Matt Pisani to drive the red ABT Jeep Wrangler in the 2008 Tuff Truck Challenge.

Whilst this Jeep is already a pretty wild piece of gear we'll be giving it some special attention over the coming months before the event. Some of the changes we will be making include a 5.7L LS1 V8 engine conversion, changing the manual gearbox to a Turbo400 auto, replacing the rear suspension with a triangulated 4 link with coil overs and some other goodies.

Mantis Motorsports were invited to the Summernats by ABT to help promote the stand that ABT had and Rock Crawling as a sport. We also did the celebrity burnout.

Everyone arrived on Thursday 3rd Jan and set up the camp site and a stand in the Auto 1 pavilion. The vehicles were scrutineered and stickered up so they could be driven around the cruise circuit.
